Vaping

Over the past few years, vaping has become increasingly popular due to the fact that it’s often deemed to be ‘safer’ or ‘more acceptable’ than smoking cigarettes. With the popularity of the use of e-cigarettes rising, the vaping industry has largely expanded out throughout more brands and manufacturers and there are now hundreds of available ‘flavors’ and vaping uses.

If you’re already a vaper, considering experimenting with the practice, or you’re just generally interested in what it’s all about, here are a few facts that you should know to ensure that you’re informed.

Vaping Really Is Less Harmful Than Smoking Cigarettes

Whilst many of those who aren’t all that informed on the act of vaping believe that vapers use this statement as an excuse to justify their actions, vaping is actually a lot safer than smoking. By vaping instead of smoking, users are inhaling much lower amounts of nicotine and harsh chemicals like diacetyl (which is a flavoring chemical). In turn, they’re putting themselves at a lower risk of getting a lung disease such as bronchitis or lung cancer.

A study was also conducted in the UK which found that vaping could potentially save the lives of 6,000 smokers a year because it generally does a lot less damage.

However, It Can Also Be Toxic

Whilst cigarettes obviously contain many more chemicals than e-cigarettes, vaping can still prove to be toxic depending on what type of juices and products you use. In many e-liquids, one of the ingredients included is often liquid nicotine as some vapers will still feel the need for nicotine, even if they’re not burning it like when smoking a cigarette. If you use juices that contain nicotine, you’ll still be inhaling the harmful substance and it can still do a lot of damage to your lungs.

Certain models of e-cigarettes, notably ones that are on the cheaper end of the spectrum from lesser known brands, also are constructed from metals that can release further chemicals when they’re in use. In turn, you’ll be unknowingly inhaling further toxins.

E-Cigarettes Lack Quality Control

Due to the fact that vaping has gotten more popular very recently, there are no strict regulations that have been created for the manufacturing of vaping products. As there’s a limited amount of research into the health benefits of vaping, there’s a very narrow federal oversight of the use and branding of vaping products.

Manufacturers often will claim health benefits that have been disproved and many e-liquid brands aren’t required to disclose all the ingredients that can be found within their products.

Vaping Can Save You Money Over Smoking

One of the most common reasons for people to stop smoking cigarettes is due to the amount of money that the products cost. Compared to the amount of money that a fairly heavy smoker could spend on cigarettes in a year, purchasing an e-cigarette can prove to be a lot less expensive in the long-term.

Whilst you do have to replace cartridges and purchase e-liquids, the devices are reusable and can often last quite a long time if you take good care of your products. Instead of having to purchase a whole new pack of cigarettes every day, you just have to make sure you have your charger and accessibility to a power socket.

Whether you’re an experienced vaper or are completely new to the scene, there are a number of important facts that you should know about vaping to ensure you’re informed about e-cigarette use.
