Acne in dogs – Causes!

Acne is a skin disease of the dog young adults that occurs in predisposed breeds (Boxer, Bulldog, Pug, Doberman).

The term acne dog is used in reference to man dermatitis, but is actually unsuitable for dogs. In fact, the exact pathogenesis is still unknown dermatitis in dogs. It does not seem strictly identical to the human disease, where abnormal metabolism of certain fatty acids is suspected. In dogs, it could be a primary disorder of keratinization and / or pilosebaceous operation complicated by bacterial infection.

Canine acne lesions are characterized by comedones, papules, pustules and boils localized follicular chin and lips. Marked edema of the chin can be observed in some cases.
