Peace of mind…! Well, it is, if truth be told, a blessing if you own tranquility of mind. A healthy mind will lead an individual to a healthy life. In this disaster -hit world, almost all of us have to pass through tribulations; hence every one of us has to go through psychological frustration, anxiety, nervousness and other mental disarrays. So if one proclaims that he is free of all worries, there are two possibilities. Either he is extremely fortunate or he is a liar!

What is mental health?

Mental health was not defined for a long time, until World Health Organization defined it in the expressions that follow:

“A state of well being, in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community.”

From the above stated description, a customary and official definition, following conjectures can be made:

  • Mental health is a condition of vigorous and fighting fit mind.
  • Individual passes through realization of his/her knacks.
  • A person, mentally healthy, can adequately and easily muddle through routine problems in daily life.
  • His/ her productivity is free of adverse effects. Thus, he can execute his toil activities in an efficient approach, with an effective output.
  • His/her social life is fruitful and role towards community is quite substantial.

Importance of mental health:

No matter, how important is corporeal vigor and a stout body, mental strength and fitness has its own imperative place in human life. If we turn out some folios from the past, it is clearly apparent, that many people, who were sturdy and stout physically, were found futile in physical performance. Reason at the rear is, undoubtedly, lack of mental peace.

If a person, well-equipped with mandatory skills, also having physical valor and vigor, but unfit mentally, would get his mindset sidetracked from his work and hence, will either not perform or under-perform at his duty.

Only and only, a permutation of mental and physical health can prove vital and effective at one’s job. Absence of a healthy mind can cause adverse effects on physical stature as well.
