Winters give you the liberty to overindulge in foods, all kinds of them. As during winters you do easily get the feeling of a fuller stomach easily. Extra salty, spicy, and oily, still your taste buds keep asking for more. Winters give you the liberty to indulge yourself into various foods without making you feel guilty for overindulging into them.

Winters also bring along various problems with it and every year and your body needs the extra love and care in order to make it capable enough to fight the harsh days. Our diet plays the most important role in boosting our immune system and therefore we must take good care of it.

All you need is a little work towards doing it. Just take out a little time for yourself and assess what is going wrong inside of you. Eat correct food, relax, exercise and take good care of your sleep.

Here are a few tips with which you can keep your inside and out healthy and happy

1. Pour some porridge into your plates

Backup your entire day with loads of energy of porridge. Eat oats in the morning, and top it with loads of vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds. You can also try some other seasonal veggies like cranberries, dates, and apples.

2. Have foods, veggies, and fruits which are rich in vitamin C

Eat vegetables like red peppers, tomatoes, sweet potatoes and various other citrus fruits which contain vitamin c as they help boost the immune system.

Do exercise daily and with proper food, you will become fit overall.

3. Look for food sources like that are rich in zinc

During winters you must have heard people complaining about having caught flu, fever or cold and it is better that you take the precautions beforehand so that your immune system functions normally and zinc contributes to this. If you want good sources of zinc then you must eat legumes, oysters, and spinach.

4. Instead of taking sugar in foods or in any other form switch to root veggies and soups

We all get attracted to sugar laded foods and chilly sweet winter months add to the cravings. Not only sugary foods are bad for the waistline but also for our overall health. There are a lot of fruits that will satiate your cravings and that will make you feel better in every way. You must try roasted root vegetables which are great during lunchtime and do make it sure to use lots of ginger and garlic.

5. Mustard Leaves

A fun fact related to mustard leaves is that they have important vitamins like A and also bone-building calcium. Mustard leaves are a great source of calcium and can be used as a substitute for dairy products.

6. Tea

You can have a single cup of coffee or other kinds of hot beverages. Tea has no calories naturally and because of which you can give your body some heat without adding those extra kilos to your body. Tea has a high rate of anti-oxidants and the type of oxidants present in it are caches which are known to reduce the chances of cancer.

7. Guava

Single guava is nutrition packed and loaded with a lot of good of so many things. Single guava has about 1 gm of protein and almost 10 gms of carbohydrates. It also has a good amount of phosphorus, magnesium, carbohydrates, calcium, iron, vitamin c which can help in repairing tissues, vitamin A. Guava is a highly versatile fruit which can be used as a salad, to make juices or prepare salsa.

8. Honey

You can eat this raw and in its natural form as it helps kills the germs and bacteria that are killed during the winter months. Though it is sweeter than sugar still it is not as harmful as sugar is. It is a natural substitute and is great during the winter months.
